Extra Tall Bar Stools

Traditionally, extra tall bar stools are not made for sitting. They are made for decoration and are most commonly used as a plant stand. Although they can be sat on, extra tall bar stools are very fancy looking and are usually too tall to sit on without having to climb on something to get on. On average, a bar stool is thirty four inches to thirty six inches tall. An extra tall bar stool can be anywhere from forty two inches tall all the way to seventy two inches tall. With a height like that, clearly, these are not meant to sit on.

Some bar stools that are considered extra tall are made for sitting, but not as an item that you use for everyday use. They are made with thin legs and often times no back support. This means that for a prolonged period of time, you would be very uncomfortable if you sat on this stool. Because there is no reason that most people would have for sitting on a extra large bar stool, most of them are backless. They sometimes have odd shaped seats, some even domed like which is much more conductive to holding plants or other objects.

Many cafes have started staggering the height of their tables and bar stools in the cafe to create a different feel. This also creates a little more room in the cafe because tables can be put closer together because people aren't sitting elbow to elbow. Because of this, a demand for more stable and sturdy extra tall bar stools have come in demand. Places like Starbucks, and even Panda Express Chinese restaurants have started using these extra tall bar stools and tables in their dining area because they can be smaller surfaces and still hold the same amount of people.

Very few of these extra tall bar stools are for commercial use. If you are considering using these in your cafe or restaurant, talk to a dealer about the best ones that you can get for the type of area you are using them for. Because there is a wide range of sizes, you should check to make sure that you are getting the right one for your business.
